At the United Nations in New York, a meeting convened by a December 2016 vote of the UN General Assembly has voted to make nuclear weapons illegal.
There will be a long process as nations decide (or not) to ratify this new agreement—don’t hold your breath on our fine nation adopting this—but let’s sing and dance and PARTY for a strong move in the world in the right direction!
L’ONU vient d’adopter, ce vendredi 7 juillet 2017, et au terme de trois semaines de négociations entre 141 Etats, un traité bannissant l’arme atomique. Neuf pays détenteurs de l’arme nucléaire – dont la France – ont boycotté ces négociations internationales et se placent donc hors la loi humaine. Il importe à présent que les peuples et les populations fassent pression sur leurs dirigeants pour qu’ils appliquent cette décision internationale.
